Common lifestyle changes that help
These are the foundational shifts most often used alongside clinical care for this pattern. Start with one; layer in the next only when the first feels automatic. Discuss anything major with your practitioner.
- Cooling foods: cucumber, coconut, sweet fruit, leafy greens, mint, coriander
- Avoid spicy, fried, sour, and fermented foods during flare-ups
- Time in nature, moonlight walks, and cooling breathwork (sheetali)
- Moderate exercise; avoid midday heat and intense competition
- Create space for play — pitta types tend to over-work
